What is RSS?RSS is an acronym for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary, a computer format for distributing news headlines on the Web, also known as syndication. RSS uses a technology called XML to collect and group website content into feeds. With an RSS-enabled browser or a news reader you can subscribe to these RSS feeds. As new items are posted on the RSS feeds they are delivered directly to your web browser or news reader.
What is Podcasting?Podcasting is a method of publishing audio broadcasts via the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed of new files (usually MP3s). Another way to think of podcasting is that it is RSS with an MP3 attachment, like e-mail with an attachment. Podcasting gets its name from the idea of broadcasting audio on the internet as an RSS feed that subscribers can download and load onto their iPod (or other MP3 player).
